jotta member Ruth Babajide who recently set up Merbi Ceramics will be exhibiting a collection of ceramic storage vessels inspired by Nigerian popular culture from the nineties to this present day. The collection called Glamour Girls, focuses on actresses who became iconic in Nigeria for playing dangerous, powerful yet beautiful gangsters. These inspirations have been translated into drawings and prints onto the ceramic vessels which are to be looked upon as a tribute or trophy, honouring these women and introducing them to a western audience.
