Should I Stay or Should I Go? CHELSEA space 5th Anniversary

happened » Friday, 12 March 10:00 → Saturday, 17 April 16:00

Some remarkable artists will be celebrating the 5th operational year of CHELSEA space, the exhibition rooms that have seen their fair share of innovative, arresting and, (most of all) fun work.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? is an exhibition designed to recapture some of the most salient moments in the short life-span of the innovative CHELSEA space.

The show lasts for five weeks, with five artists (or artist duo/group) each running the show for a week (the artists being those who were integral to CHELSEA space's progression).

Giving a platform (but no pedestals) to significant projects that might have otherwise gone un-realised, the projects that have unfurled at CHELSEA space have been almost X - ray-like in their openness concerning the dialogues and processes involved in their making.

The show is highly recommended as a way of viewing some very vital and right-down-to-the-wire work, including many under-discussed episodes of 'cultural activity and artistic production' that should, perhaps, have a much bigger presence in our cultural world.

In conjunction with RUN, those artists curating the five 'acts' of the exhibition will be: Bruce Mclean and David Gothard, Lisa Le Feuvre, Teresa Gleadowe, Jo Melvin, Mick Jones, and other guests.

Expect re-enactments, rehearsals, performance, interventions, punctuations, mythologies of CHELSEA space's own archives, design, and sound work.
