Recasting the maid orchestral instruments as a thing of vitality and minimalist beauty, Serafina has recorded with Tunng and recently performed at The Barbican supporting Antony and the Johnstons. Philip Smiley is an illustrator whose clients have included Comme Des Garcons, Burberry and Stella McCartney. He draws intricate kooky images which range from pretty watercolour feminine portraits, to gnarled age old trees that morph into anatomical systems, to victorian era etchings. Born in Hawaii in 1976, Philip is a MA Fine Arts graduate from the School of Visual Arts in New and currently lives in London.

Luella Hanbury jewellery designs are inspired by architecture from around the world. Predominantly using a technique known as lost wax casting, she creates pendants, cufflinks, bracelets and rings that echo the sophisticated lines of architectural forms. Menswear designer Stansfield joins Swanfield collective as a permanent member, bringing some much needed threads for all the guys that get dragged along by their ladies!

Swanfield had it's opening this last Sunday the 9th. Despite the rain there was a constant stream of people from the early afternoon onwards, and a nice buzz about the place! Philip Smiley exhibited his kooky illustrations, including my favourites, bugged out, clam face and spaghetti hair...mmmm. New addition Stansfield, was selling menswear for the fella's coming through, while the lovely Serafina Steer stunned everyone at closing time with her multi instrumental playing and singing- all at the same time! We look forward to the coming weeks.

Mine Opening day will see treasures from the past seasons of London womenswear label Mine. With her signature hand drawn textile prints, and twists on proportion play, Mine provides a wardrobe with endless combinations. Swanfield Inn pop-up boutique will be open every Sunday from the 9th of November to the 21st of December at 2B Swanfield Street E2, from 12-6 pm. With the ever expanding First Thursday gallery openings, and Daisy de Villeneuve’s upcoming collaboration with Absolut Vodka, a temporary fashion space also on Redchurch high street, Swanfield Inn is on the cusp of a growing wave. While swingin tunes play from a gramophone, bubbles will flow into china tea cups, luscious layered cakes will be offered and a personal stylist will be on hand to assist with selecting your complete gift package. Silent films will provide moving wallpaper and live musical performances will take us into the evening’s celebrations. Each week Swanfield Inn will invite a guest artist to showcase their artwork, installations, prints, handmade chocolates, and other delectable talents.

Alexandra Pavlovic will come al the way from Belgrade Serbia this weekend to exhibit and sell her work at Swanfield. Alexandra has created a brand new series of work for the day- A3 prints and watercolour illustrations in the style of children's book illustrations pictured here. We're very excited!

Swanfield, East London’s favourite Pop-Up Boutique is on tour. Moving from East London to West End, 1st stop SOHO from Thursday the 16th of July to middle of September at 3 Lowndes Court, W1 London. Swanfield is a combined gallery space, market, cafe and live music venue - a collective of jewellery makers, fashion designers and artists that has its roots firmly in East London. We have been regularly showcasing emerging and existing talent in fashion, art and music in recent months, combining boutique shopping with a more relaxed and social cafe and gallery environment. We will collaborate with friends at jotta.com with artists exhibited on the shop floor. Collections from independent labels Mine, Cecilia Hammarborg, Ava Dollskull, Stansfield, Maaike Mekking, Milena and more * Plus amazing vintage finds for boys and girls from Brooke and Cosmo & all-day cupcakes & cocktails with Lily Vanilli who will have a cafe nestled into a cosy corner of the boutique.
