Rotbeesten (bloody animals)
The "bloody animals" are a spin-off from the cartoons, because I sometimes had to portray philosophers as animals or include beasts in the joke; and a spin-off from writing absurd nursery rhymes, one of my other hobbies.

Caricatures
The series of caricatures (mainly philosophers) was started in 2006. They emerged out of a more pretentious project of "calligraphies", swift drawings that tried to evoke likeness while diverting as much as possible from facial forms.
As a dilletante (and naturally too shy to look people in the eye) I am grossly inept at life drawing - so I work mainly from memory. It is a hit-and-miss process. If the drawing is not there in a few strokes, there is no hope for it.

Anti-Identities
One-minute (or faster) drawings made at the Damoclash Festival, 23 May 2009. No selection, I made about 70 in all but I gave away the rest for free. They're called anti-identities because they don't always resemble.

Cartoons
The "Cartoons" are generally less extreme than the caricatures. They have to be a bit more 'controlled' because they also convey a joke. But the line is growing thinner, and that's precisely how I want it.
Some of them are inside jokes for philosophers, but in general they're more accessible than philosophical texts.
