Jotta goes live this March, inviting collaborators, artists, designers and makers to join us for a week of workshops. Help us celebrate our 3rd birthday with a week of interactive events and workshops which draw from the fascinating people and mind-boggling projects we feature in our debut magazine, from beehive making to collage with tailoring patterns and kinetic drawing machines.

Saturday March 24th
Linocutboy aka Nick Morley settles in for a week long residency, printing linocuts, people can drop in and do a quick print or come on Saturday for a 3 hour linocut flip-book workshop. Nick will be there Saturday 1.30pm - 6pm, Monday - Wednesday 11am - 6pm.
10.30 - 1.30pm
Lino-flip book workshop, £15
3-hour workshop in the main space for up to 15 people making linocut flick-books. Participants will carve and print their own images and make these into a flick-book.
Tuesday March 27th
Joanna Mires - Ceramic Sculptures, 1pm- 2.30pm, £5
Mires, one of five artists selected for Jotta’s Editions Space, uses slip casting to explore collection and nostalgia, and has already displayed her pieces at the Zabludowicz Collection, Selfridges and the V&A. Joanna will show you how she casts and finishes her ceramic ornamental pieces,which each person will do themselves and receive their piece to take home. You can then have the option to commission Joanna to fire the piece in her studio.

Wednesday March 28th- 1pm - 2.30pm, £5
Kinetic Drawing Machines.
Fresh from Kinetica art fair, Xiao Fei, Leeds University student, is a total whizz with inventing kinetic sculptures. He'll show us how to create our own mini doodle machine using bamboo, wood, rubber bands and old toy motor, which you can take home to keep.

Poster Zine workshop with Avant Gardening - 5.30pm - 7pm, £5
Avant Gardening, hosts of social and sustainable workshops at Barbican, Serpentine and London Festival of Architecture, will scour the Newburgh area for local stories from residents about the neighbourhood, how it used to be, how it is and how they envision it should be in the future. Culminating in an A3 poster zine.

Hormazd Narielwalla- Patterns as Documents
£7.50 entry fee
Hormazd Narielwalla is a collage maker who works with Savile Row tailoring patterns as his source materials. Narielwalla interprets and communicates patterns as abstract shapes of the human form, like DNA; interpreting them into objects, artworks and artist books. The workshop is an opportunity for you to learn about pattern construction and create your own artwork using this unique source material.
Thursday March 29th - 6.30pm- 7.30pm
Amy Pliszka- Bees Beside Us, textile bee hives talk, Free
Pliszka, a Central Saint Martins Textile Futures graduate, has designed textile hives for bees in the urban environment. Pliszka will show her hives and explain the fascinating ideas behind her beautiful design, a sustainable home geared towards attracting bees through visually enticing features.
