Explore a new breed of artist and designer playing with technology to create new work, challenging passive viewing experiences by encouraging active participation.

From programmers building interactive installations using creative coding to hacking Microsoft's XBox Kinnect,

to designers creating generative systems where the technology itself produces creative output in various mediums from moving image to print.

The talk will be followed by a screening of onedotzero_code warrirors film prgramme, featuring many of the most ambitious generative films created to date.

Friday 11th March - Gallery Tour

Concentrating on selected works exhibited in this ambitious curatorial project, jotta and Intel invite you on a curatorial tour of Remastered.  

- Uncover the intentions behind the curatorial decisions within the space

- Get insight into the art historic inquiry of the commissioned works

- Discover key concepts and concerns surrounding the original Masters

- Explore how these ideas are prevalent within the contemporary  remasters, embedded within our technological age.

Saturday 12th March - Kids Cut Masterpiece

12 noon - 2pm

Let the kids become a part of the remaster experience as they star in their own painting masterpiece! Card sets of prominent paintings from art history have been created, all the kids have to do is choose a paper costume from the painting, colour it in, decorate it and pose on set! On completion, pose for the camera and take your masterpiece home with you.

About the guest speakers

Tony Langford, Co-founder, Managing Director of Kinetica Museum and Art Fair

An alumnus of the LCC MA in Interactive Multimedia, Tony has been involved in the research and application of audiovisual and interactive media for more than a 12 years. He worked at the European institutions in Brussels on some of the earliest research into the convergence of broadcasting, telephony and the internet. He has specialised in creating stimulating and interactive audiovisual experiences for events, he also directs the programme of performances and talks at Kinetica Art Fair.

Shane Walter, Co-founder and Creative Director of onedotzero

Digital provocateur Shane RJ Walter is a producer, curator, writer, speaker and co-founder and creative director of onedotzero, the global-reaching contemporary digital art, film and design organisation. onedotzero operates internationally to promote innovation across all forms of moving image and interactive arts. onedotzero encompass commissioning, production, public events, content development, publishing, DVD label, education, and the global touring festival onedotzero_adventures in motion that premieres at the BFI Southbank before visiting up to 50 cities annually. In 2010 Shane Walter was named in the Wired 100 list of individuals that are shaping the digital world.

Creatives are increasingly using computer code as a raw material to create fluid and self-perpetuating moving image work. This bespoke programme curated by onedotzero showcases the most ambitious personal experiments and imaginative examples of generative films from a cutting-edge community demonstrating a completely alternative way of working and realising their creative visions. Featuring generated music videos, audio responsive video experiments of particle animation generated by audio reactions, and more stunning moving image made with openframeworks, processing and trapcode.

Midnight Toastie was born out of the collective efforts of four visual designers and graduates from Central Saint Martins MA Communication design course: Audrey Anastasy, Oliver Harrison, David London and Paul Ferragut. Midnight Toastie use video, digital photography, moving image, webdesign, macro-optics and interactive design for exhibitions in Paris and London.

Eric Schockmel creates vast surreal 3Dcgi landscape animations and hyper-real environments using 3d modelling software. After graduating from Graphic Design & Video Art from Ecole de Recherche Graphique in 2006, Schockmel received his MA from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and co-founded Watergun.tv, an audiovisual production company.
