Short Sighted – Get your short film seen by the people who matter
19.06.2012

BAFTA, British Council and Shooting People are hosting an intensive day on short film distribution and marketing, as they present the latest in their Short Sighted series – an all-day event on getting your short film seen by the people who matter, on an international scale.

So you’ve made a short film…what now? Join many of the major players in short film distribution to talk about each stage of the process in getting your film to international audiences and potential collaborators.

Short Sighted runs 9:30 – 18.30, 2 July 2012, at 195 Piccadilly London W1J 9LN.

For further details about the programme, and to buy a discounted ticket, head over to the website and enter promo code SIGHT2012. Be quick – the early bird deadline ends this Friday 22 June.

Sessions will cover maximising your film’s festival run; working with a sales agent; using the web to build an awareness of your work; putting your film online, and working with brands to fund work and reach new audiences. We’ll also look ahead to the future of short film distribution to ask what new platforms, channels and players are emerging and whether there is revenue to be found.

With a line up of speakers that includes Clare Stewart, Head of Exhibition at the BFI; BAFTA winning filmmaker John Maclean and reps from a range of key short film companies, buyers and fests including, Hamburg Short Film Agency, Shorts International, YouTube, Virgin Media Shorts, SBS Television.

We’ll cap off the day with a well-deserved networking drink where you can exchange ideas with fellow filmmakers and many of our speakers.

Tickets are £30 for BAFTA and SP members/£35 public if purchased before the Early Bird date of Friday 15 June and then £40/£45 there after
