Jonny Moss
Jonny Moss’s large-scale paintings question authorship and shifting concepts within our over-saturated society through appropriating and corrupting found imagery. Marrying his painterly skills with inspiration from his collection of found print matter, Moss creates vivid and energetic pieces that leave visitors immersed within a cacophony of visual noise. Apeiron (2009) is a powerful reflection of the artists’ multi-layered approach; oil paint is applied onto canvas in various stages, to create complex and compelling metaphors for our everyday surroundings.
Lina Ekstrand
Young Swedish illustrator, Lina Ekstrand, explores a variety of artistic methods that exist between hand drawn illustrations and digitally manipulated imagery. Her illustrations are conceptually strong and communicate her ideas through arrangement of multiple narratives that co-exist within the same piece. Her work ranges from fashion inspired imagery to fairy tale narrative, all of which leave the viewer spell bound.
Natalia Urazmetova
Russian born artist, Natalia Urazmetova, exhibits Electropolis (2009) a multilayered piece that explores formation and movement within the contemporary city landscape, where immediate experience, impermanence and transience simultaneously collide with the stillness of the camera lens. Urazmetova is concerned with interpretation of space through the medium of photography, and by doing so comments on the continuum and fragmentation of a moment. In such a kaleidoscopic spectacle lies the rebus of the city.
