PERSONAL STATEMENT
I love to Travel, the worlds a great place to find inspirations, i like meeting new people and doing crazy things like meeting people in different countries. like my latest exploration was Iceland.. in which i met An american writer, we both flew to iceland to meet for the first time after not having spoken all that much!,. i like a big of wild fun every now and again!. I have fun doing what i do, i do anything that i feel the need to do! i have so much i have to go all the time! and its great to always be so busy! hard to get bored i think!. i'm very patient with things which shows in my work! and like to spent lots and lots of time obsessing on a project!. i'm always on the look out for residencies and anyone that could sponsor me to create work would be amazing! as i have not had this happen... i'm a member of the international society of typographic designers (ISTD) and was lucky enough to feature in an exhibition which included Alan Fletcher, derek birdsall, freda sack and many more!.. that was back in 2006 for which i was asked to design and carve a city map... the next thing to happen was in 2008 when i won an award from the art directors club in new york and got to spend 4 days in new york and attend the award gala! which was amazing!. even more amazing was that i got to meet up with another American Friend who i had managed to go to the american highschool i visited for a month near seattle back in 2004. before visiting the highschool i had done 5 months conservation work in Australia for Conservation volunteers Australia, which was sooo amazing. i had to work hard for this trip though and it took 2 years saving, and a month working every sunday for 1 year doing conservation work in this country as i had to prove to the Organization i paid, that would be setting up the experience, that i could do the work due to my Arthritis in the majority of my joints!. i got turned away but had to find some way of going so i worked to prove i was fit enough to do it!. i have given a few talks about my works at some universities in England and like the idea of talking to more!. i want to so very much be able to concentrate more on my artwork, or get some kind of paid work! as i need to save up for my own press so that i can start printing from home!. future goals are just to look for residencies, travel, meet interesting people and have fun with life.
