PERSONAL STATEMENT
Lucy Brown is a Manchester-based typographic artist and graphic designer who set up her own studio in 2009. Prior to setting up the studio Lucy worked with Oded Ezer in Tel Aviv, as a graphic designer for the Guardian newspaper and the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and as an art director for M&C Saatchi in Sydney. Lucy has a first class honours degree in Graphic Design: Typography from the London College of Communication and is a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers. Working both independently and collaboratively, she has a multi-disciplinary process which is applied to both personal and commercial projects. Post-graduation Lucy has worked with the Chase in Manchester, run a week-long poster workshop at the LCC with Yasha Roshov and exhibited as part of Emerge, the graduate showcase of the London Design Festival. Her work has also been published in St Bride Library's Ultrabold and the Atlas Journal. Prior to training as a designer, Lucy worked for two years at Idea Generation in London and gained experience of the media industry at the BBC, BSkyB and Emap radio.
