The Converse/ Dazed Emerging Artists Award 2012: the finalists

Pio Abad, Leslie Kulesh, Myles Painter and Samara Scott have been tipped for success once again Dazed partners with Converse and the Whitechapel Gallery for the Emerging Artists Award, a platform for emerging unrepresented artists under 35. Judges including Jeremy Deller and the Times Arts’ Nancy Durrant have chosen the four shortlisted.

Auto Italia Guest Edition: Auto Italia Live: Five Years On

Over the past 5 years London-based art organisation Auto Italia South East have created ground-breaking new formats using live and media arts. Often their projects engage an audience in the here and now; from the entranced crowds at ‘Yes Way’, a festival in collaboration with the music promoters Upset the Rhythm, to the studio-audiences who feature in their artist-run TV series, Auto Italia Live.

Frieze Art Fair New York

Frieze New York, the inaugural edition, launched its four-day art extravaganza on May 6th in a space bordered by East Harlem, the South Bronx, and Queens on Randall’s Island—hosting international works from over 180 galleries. Walking through the long white tents, spectators admired contemporary art from all over the world: Berlin and Paris, Dubai, Sao Paolo, London and L.A., to name a few.
