A stellar lineup of ten UK-based contemporary artists have been announced for the Film London Jarman Award. This year, the prize is worth £26,000 and the list, which includes Marcus Coate, Shezad Dawood and Ben Rivers, continues to highlight the growing importance of film as an artist’s medium in the UK.

Over the past 5 years London-based art organisation Auto Italia South East have created ground-breaking new formats using live and media arts. Often their projects engage an audience in the here and now; from the entranced crowds at ‘Yes Way’, a festival in collaboration with the music promoters Upset the Rhythm, to the studio-audiences who feature in their artist-run TV series, Auto Italia Live.

As part of this week’s Auto Italia Guest Edition to celebrate their 5th anniversary and live show at the ICA, we’ll be publishing each of the Auto Italia LIVE episodes, starting with Talking Objects in Space featuring Nathan Budzinski and Benedict Drew.

Artist-run organisation Auto Italia South East take over Jotta.com this week in celebration of their 5th birthday and the broadcast of the latest episode of their TV show, Auto Italia LIVE, which will be filmed in front of a studio audience on Saturday 9th June at 7pm and streamed live from the ICA. We’ll be featuring interviews and videos from Auto Italia all this week. Here the directors catch up with some of the artists collaborating on the next episode to discuss live TV performance and what each artist will be bringing to the show.

Jotta caught up with Redmond Entwistle to talk about Walk-Through, his recently completed film about California Institute of the Arts. Currently on show at Cubitt, London, Entwistle’s exhibition coincides with PROSPECTUS an experimental exhibition exploring the practices of radical art education and exhibition as an educational technology.
