Daily Poetry: Toys for Contemplation
By Rachel Perlmutter –  02.07.2012

How do you unwind and switch off? Central Saint Martins MA Textile Futures student Ingrid Hulskamp’s graduation work is all about contemplative design. A self-described ‘design poet’, her handblown glass objects aim to bring moments of calm amidst the chaos.

Ingrid Hulskamp has created contemplation "toys"  with three different sensory experiences: a tactile experience using hand-blown glass, wood, brass plated gold and textiles; a visual experience using coloured pigments that transform when you start playing with the object and a sonic experience through the movement of water and glass balls.
