Summer Shows 2012 Preview: Wheel of Doom
By  –  25.05.2012

Jotta have teamed up with University of the Arts London to preview some brilliant work emerging from across the six London colleges, on show throughout June. Ever experienced a rising sense of anger as the Apple spinning wheel of doom holds you up? Camberwell BA Graphic Design students Imogen Reekie and Harry Winteringham have, and have brought the wheel into real life on the streets London.

BA Graphic Design Camberwell College of Art students Imogen Reekie and Harry Winteringham have been exploring the subject of human interaction with technology, and in particular, human frustration with technology.

Employing that instantly recognisable rainbow wheel of death, the digital wait cursor, the pair acknowledge circumstances outside the digital environment that can be annoying and identify them with an actual 3D version of the symbol, experimenting with how the audience relates and interacts towards the symbol. The results are quite amusing…

See more of Imogen Reekie and Harry Winteringham's work on show here from 16 – 23 June at Camberwell College of Arts, Peckham Road, London SE5 8UF.
