RCA Bring Paradaise to Milan Design Week
By  –  19.04.2012

Paradise is a gathering of over 60 students from Royal College of Art who imagine a future realm where computers can create ceramic portraits, wooden shoes allow us to scale any surface and a sunset lasts forever.

A myriad of incredible, inventive designs have been selected for this travelling exhibition. A stand out piece, for it's stunning simplicity, is the Fan Table by Mauricio Affonso of the MA Design Products course. Created from over 400 slats, the table can be quickly transformed into an array of different shapes and sizes to suit its context or use. The surface can freely expand, contract and revolve in an effortless fan like movement of the hand.

All the work was selected by RCA Design Products Professor Tord Boontje and Onkar Kular and will be on show at Milan Design Week until April 22nd.
