About: Within the framework of the 1st Santorini Biennale of Arts in 2012, artists and designers are invited to submit material for a research and international exhibition where a ‘meeting of artists’ from all over the world.
 
Works may be submitted in any of the following categories:
Drawing, Graphic Design, Illustration, Collage, Comics, Paper, Painting, Glass, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Short Film, Video Art, Installation, Industrial Design

This initiative supports an infrastructure for a mélange of the arts through a didactic and experimental series of exhibits.  By means of an advanced framework of outreach activities the Biennale seeks to cultivate the emerging spirit of the island, inviting all participants into an open dialogue concerning new ideas for social change.

We welcome all possible languages of your artistic comments and explanations. However there should equally be an English version.  

Deadline: Please send your submissions through the website before May 19, 2012.

EXHIBITION DATES
01 July 2012 to 30 Sept 2012

THEME 
The 2012 theme, ‘The Past: Memory and Nostalgia’, will examine intrinsic experiences and social relationships, inspired by how humanity accumulates a catalogue of our personal fabric and how these collected manifestations shape the patterns of our lives.

This open call is not guaranteeing that you will be invited to take part in Biennale. Please be aware that your submission might be used and published within its framework. Please also consider that the Biennale is not able to send back any received material, but that everything will be integrated into the public research archive of the Biennale.
