Converse and Dazed partner once again with the Whitechapel Gallery for the third annual Converse/Dazed Emerging Artists Award to discover the UK’s future art-stars.
Brief: We’re looking for work that challenges perceptions. Six judges from the UK's prestigious art community are looking for originality across all artistic mediums. The award is open to any unrepresented artist under 35, not in full-time education. From painting, sculpture and photography to video, performance, installation, digital and sound work. There is no theme and no agenda. We want something fresh, something new, something with absolute authenticity.
Judges: This year's judges are Turner Prize-winning artist - Jeremy Deller, The Times Arts Commissioning Editor - Nancy Durrant - Whitechapel Gallery Curator - Kirsty Ogg, Dazed & Confused Visual Arts Editor - Francesca Gavin, art collective - Lucky PDF and IBID project director - Magnus Edensvard.
