Tight Modern is a miniature replica of the iconic Tate Modern Gallery and displays 50 artworks from the UK’s most talented disabled and marginalised artists.

About the opportunity: Creative Future, in partnership with the Arts Council, Royal Brompton Hospital and Studio Upstairs is re-launching Tight Modern this summer. Tight Modern is a miniature replica of London’s iconic Tate Modern and showcases 50 disabled and marginalised artists in a venue 8ft long and 5ft wide with a chimney 12ft high. Artworks are a little bigger than postcard size and this year we’re looking for originals and photographs.

We are now looking for submissions for the Tight Modern tour 2012 which will visit venues in Sussex and London with anticipated audiences of 4000.

Send an original artwork, photograph or computer generated image measuring (18x13cm) OR (13x13cm) to Creative Future. Email simonpowell@freeuk.com for an entry form and further details

Deadline:
June 4th, 5pm

Selection process:
50 artworks will be selected from amongst the submissions by panel after June 4th

Prizes:
£250, £175 and £75 for the publics favourite three artists (voted for at the tour venues and online).  Voting closes after the last tour leg in Nov 2012.

Entry fee:
£5 per artwork

In previous years Tight Modern has appeared as part of Brighton’s Fringe Festival and has averaged weekend audience figures of 2000+. In 2012, the show will go on tour with details of the schedule and previous shows at www.wix.com/tightmodern/gallery
