The first ever bio-responsive food installation at Magnum London, an icecream concept pop-up, where from July 20th – 21st you can experience the Magnum Infinity Pleasure Pod, the world’s first bio-responsive food installation curated by culinary architects, Bompas & Parr and produced by Jotta.
The Magnum Infinity Pleasure Pod will be based at Westfield Stratford City this July is all set to treat shoppers while they discover how their bodies respond to pleasure. The pod is an immersive food installation in which you can enjoy a free Magnum Infinity while your physical responses are monitored and visualised around you.
Visitors step inside the sleek black, spherical pod to eat the ice cream and a complex array of bio sensing equipment then registers the sensory experiences of their body through markers, including skin tension, facial expression, swallowing and heartbeat. The data is then fed into a generative artwork created by digital animator Matt Pearson, which is projected onto the pod’s interior, creating your bespoke "Pleasure Portrait".
The pod creation is the result of a six month research project led by architectural foodsmiths at Bompas & Parr and neuroscientists from the Wellcome Trust. The pleasure seekers’ pod will touch down at Westfield Stratford City from July 20 to 22 and will be open from 9am to 9pm.
Jotta will be there all week so come and give it a try!
