The Future of Money 2012: 2011 winning film

Thinking of money as simply an exchange system belies the true extent of its history and its influence on the way we think and behave. Royal College of Art tutor Austin Houldsworth’s Future of Money competition invites creative practitioners to take a speculative design approach and imagine new electronic payment systems which could help instill an increased awareness of our personal finances. Remastered: Vanessa Harden vs Raphael

Interaction designer Vanessa Harden’s School of TIME is a meticulously conceived response to Raphael’s The School of Athens. Raphael’s sprawling embodiment of the Renaissance depicts the preeminent philosophical figures of the time, including Aristotle, Socrates, Plato and Pythagoras. This masterpiece was commissioned by Pope Julius II as fresco for the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. Harden was one of 13 artists to exhibit with jotta and Intel’s Remastered project.
