Celebrating Clerkenwell as a community of makers, past and present, Creative Clerkenwell launches the Makers in Residence initative at Clerkenwell Design Week 2012.
During Clerkenwell Design Week 2012, Lansons Communications' cobblestoned entryway will be transformed into a veritable Courtyard of Creativity. As the hub for Creative Clerkenwell's Makers in Residence programme (#imake), the courtyard will host making activities, 16.00 - 18.00 Tuesday 22nd - Thursday 24th May, and the Postcards from Clerkenwell gallery wall, featuring illustrations of the area's creative past and present, throughout the festival.
Makers in Residence activities will take place at:
- Courtyard of Creativity - 24a St John Street, EC1M 4AY - #CourtyardCreative drop-in activities and Makers in Residence
- Craft Central, 33-35 St John's Square, EC1M 4DS - Live Studio in Display Window
Postcards from Clerkenwell walking & drawing tours (Wed and Thur, 4-6pm) will visit several Fringe open studio participants, some of which are hosting Makers in Residence, including jeweller DayC at Chetwood Architects.
Jotta will be showing and selling ceramic sculpture by Joanna Mires at the London Kills Me pop-uop at Craft Central, Clerkenwell Green.
