Urbanized: design documentary trilogy - win the dvd!
By Millie Ross –  04.04.2012

Urbanized is the third in the cult design documentary trilogy directed by Gary Hustwit. After seeing this film Jotta almost up and left London for Botaga, that’s how captivating we found former mayor and urbanist hero Enrique Penalosa speak about his city, among others. Find out how to win a copy of the DVD here.

The final documentary in director Gary Hustwit's design film trilogy, following the font-fanatic's Helvetica, and the product design focused Objectified, Urbanized is an engrossing and visually arresting exploration into how our cities are designed, and the people who design them.

Hustwit traveled the world with cinematographer Luke Geissbuhler, filming urban design projects that represent the issues facing cities today, and interviewing the world's foremost architects, planners, policymakers, and thinkers. Sir Norman Foster, Rem Koolhaas, Jan Gehl, Oscar Niemeyer, Michael Sorkin and more give enlightening insights into their work and the warnings signs we must heed when designing modern cities.

Made with support from the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, like Hustwit’s past work, Urbanized articulately conveys the omnipresence of design in our daily lives. This is one of those fims which you emerge from with truly fresh eyes, seeing the world around you in a completely different way.

Jotta has 3 Urbanized DVDs to give away!

To be in with the chance of winning a pair simply post an image or link to your favourite piece of urban design - whether it is a park, a building, a canal, bike path, bench or street - it's all been designed! POST YOUR IMAGE OR LINK  HERE
